FIRE Mileage — Support

Need help or have feedback? Email q.infinitylab@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you.

Getting started

  1. Add a vehicle — Vehicles tab, tap +. A name is all you need to start.
  2. Add an entity (purpose) — Settings → Entities. Create a Business or Rental Property so trips can be tagged as deductible.
  3. Set the IRS rate — Settings → Mileage Rates. Add the standard rate for the tax year (for example, 0.67).
  4. Log a trip — Trips tab → Start a trip (pick the vehicle, enter the start odometer). When you’re done, Complete it with an ending odometer or a manual distance, and pick the entity.
  5. See your deduction — Open the vehicle to view the annual summary: miles per entity and the dollar deduction.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account or internet? No. FIRE Mileage works fully offline and never asks you to sign in.

Is my data backed up? If iCloud is enabled on your device, your data is automatically mirrored to your own private iCloud account and syncs across your devices. There is no server in the middle.

Do I have to allow location access? No. Location is optional and only pre-fills a trip’s start/end location when you tap the location button. Every feature works with Location Services turned off.

How do I give my numbers to my accountant? Settings → Export Data (CSV) creates Vehicles, Trips, and Summary files you can save to Files/iCloud Drive, AirDrop, or email. Open them in Numbers or Excel.

Why does my odometer total not match my logged miles? The annual summary intentionally compares the two so you can spot trips you forgot to log. The difference shows as untracked miles.

The deduction shows no dollar amount. Add a mileage rate for that tax year in Settings → Mileage Rates.
