FIRE Mileage is designed to keep your data private.
Data we collect: none, except feedback you choose to send us. FIRE Mileage has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Outside of feedback you choose to send us, we, the developer, never receive your data.
Where your data lives. All data you enter (vehicles, trips, odometer readings, entities, and rates) is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, the app also stores a copy in your own private iCloud account so it can sync across your devices and serve as a backup. This data is held in Apple’s iCloud under your Apple ID; it is not accessible to us and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Location. FIRE Mileage can use your location to help fill in a trip’s start or end location, only when you tap the location button and only if you grant permission. To turn your coordinates into a street address, the app asks Apple’s mapping service, the same system service Apple Maps uses; this is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Your location is never sent to us, the developer. The app is fully functional with Location Services turned off.
Feedback you choose to send. If you submit a bug report or feature request (Settings ▸ Feedback), the app sends us the contents of the form — your message, any images you attach, and your email if you provide it — plus basic device information (device model, iOS version, app version, language, and whether iCloud is on). Bug reports also include item counts (never odometer readings, amounts, or trip details), shown in the form before you send. A random identifier is included and used only to rate-limit submissions. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
Data you export. When you use the CSV export feature, files are created on your device and shared only where you choose to send them (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email, etc.). We are not involved in and do not receive these exports.
Children. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes. We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
